This piece was made during the SAQA Color Seminar in early 2021. I had also just attended a Zoom Presentation by Cindy Grisdela and was inspired by both. Using Cindy's Angled Stripes from her Artful Improve technique, I challenged myself to use a totally different color palette. I usually stick to pretty safe color combinations and seldom use orange, it intimidates me. After Katie Pasquini Masopust unit on Color Theory I did what she suggested and made a Fabric Color Wheel (which I plan to add onto). It really helped me gain a better understanding of Hue, Value and Saturation. And her suggestion not to use predictable colors, but to make color decisions with intent. Use value to illuminate and give depth, and remember that Color gets all the credit, Value does all the work.
